The United Mexican States (Spanish: Estados Unidos Mexicanos) is a Federal Republic composed of 32 Federal entities: 31 States and 01 "federal district" (Mexico City). The States are internally divided into Municipalities. In total, there are 2438 municipalities in Mexico. The state with the highest number of municipalities(570) is Oaxaca, and the state with the lowest number is Baja California(05). The Federal District is divided into 16 Delegaciones or Boroughs.

A Municipality (simplified Chinese: 直辖市; traditional Chinese: 直轄市; pinyin: zhíxiáshì), also translated as direct-controlled municipality (formally), municipality directly under the central government, or province-level municipality is the highest level classification for cities used by the People's Republic of China (PRC). Municipalities are the highest-ranked cities in the PRC.

U.S. is divided into 50 states. States are further divided into more than 3000 counties and 41 independent state .
