Following is a complete list of Australian animal extinctions from 1788 to the present. There are 23 birds, 4 frogs, and 27 mammal species or subspecies strongly believed to have become extinct since European settlement of Australia. Extinctions are recorded under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Several invertebrate species have also been listed as extinct by the World Conservation Union (IUCN); however, this list is less exhaustive, as invertebrates are more difficult to survey and are less well studied.

This list of African-American inventors and scientists attempts to document many of the African Americans who have invented a multitude of items or made discoveries in the course of their lives. These have ranged from practical everyday devices to applications and scientific discoveries in diverse fields, including physics, biology, mathematics, plus the medical, nuclear and space sciences.

Many chronic diseases are linked or associated with infectious pathogens. A disease is said to be linked or associated with an infectious pathogen when that pathogen is found more frequently in patients with the disease than in healthy controls. Often, infectious pathogens associated with a disease may be suspected of playing a causal role in that disease — and some scientists believe a substantial portion of chronic diseases may in part be caused by infectious agents — though association alone does not automatically prove causality (because correlation does not imply causation).

Pathogenic bacteria are bacteria that cause bacterial infection. This article deals with human pathogenic bacteria. Although most bacteria are harmless or often beneficial, several are pathogenic. One of the bacterial diseases with the highest disease burden is tuberculosis, caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which kills about 2 million people a year, mostly in sub-Saharan Africa.

This is an incomplete list of bacteria and fungi that are used in preparing food. Do not include species which are only involved in food spoilage. For the first column, always use the most up-to-date name for the microorganism (e.g. "Propionibacterium freudenreichii ssp. shermanii", not the older name "Propionibacterium shermanii"). For the food column, be as specific as possible (e.g. "cheese" or "yogurt" instead of "dairy" or "Emmental cheese" instead of "cheese"). Also, for each food create a new row so that the food column can be fully sortable. Whenever possible, cite your sources.
